I have seen beauty and I have seen terror. These small, curious, time worn eyes have witnessed both birth and ruin, life crawling softly from the dark, and death swallowing entire worlds without remorse. I have stood at the edge of the unknowable and watched existence breathe.
And God, I have seen magic.
Not the fragile kind born from tricks and illusions, but the ancient magic stitched into the ribs of the universe itself. I have felt its resilient pulse, its fearless heart, its unshakable gravity pulling eternity through my veins. I have felt a force so potent, so immeasurable, that language fractures beneath it. Human words are too mortal for what I witnessed that day.
The universe chose me. I was the chosen one!
Out of billions of wandering souls and half-awake hearts, it turned its infinite face toward mine and said: You. Not loudly. Not cruelly. But with the quiet certainty of constellations arranging themselves across doomed skies.
My universe. My terrible, beautiful baby.
It unveiled itself before me like a sacred wound opening beneath starlight. The heavens did not merely shine, they descended. Stars spilled around me like celestial embers escaping the palms of creation itself. They moved. They breathed. They spoke in silences older than language.
And then,
They gathered. Slowly. Deliberately. Like ancient gods taking their rightful thrones in the dark.
A galaxy. Yes, Disha! The Milky Way!
Not merely of stars, but of manifestation, grace, longing, destiny, eternity. A living cathedral of cosmic fire trembling before my mortal eyes. The very beings I whisper to in solitude, the celestial children I love with an absurd, aching devotion, stood before me breathing within that fleeting hour as though the universe itself had briefly forgotten the distance between dream and reality.
I could have died then. Perhaps I should have. But what is death before a moment so divine that even time itself kneels in reverence? What is mortality before the infinite finally choosing to reveal its face?
I did not feel fear. I felt recognition.
The Cosmos looked into me and found a forgotten star.
